Entry from: Koh Pagnan, Thailand Entry Title: "Apr 24-29 - Koh Phangan" Entry: "We left Koh Samui at 10:00a.m. and were seen off by the Dutchies (Hi Jos &Hotza!!:) Hotza is under the impression that Holland is ranked #3 in the World Cup standings. I tried to convince him that #3 is the bus the team will be travelling on!!! Eleven of us travelled in the mini van going to the ferry - this meant that all the backpacks went on the roof and yes, the skies opened!! Luckily it was onlyfor a few minutes andnothing got too wet. After about an hour on the ferrywe arrived at Koh Phangan, another island in the Gulf of Thailand, famous for it's FullMoon parties where all the plastic hippies congregate. We opted for a beach on thenorth east isde of the island which is on the opposite side from Haad Rin where the sun sets on one beach and rises on the other beach - the biggest challenge for most is rememberring which beach is for what!! Very few roads in Koh Phangan are paved and the road to our beach was a jungle road. We shared a taxi (pick up truck) with another couple and their 3 year old son. Eric the Frenchman from Stockholm and I travelled in the back of the pick up with the backpacks, while his wife and son travelled in the air conditioned cab with Issy.
